Using Research Ethics for All

Access to and use of Research Ethics for All website and content are subject to these terms and conditions.  

Research Ethics for All provides community research partners with developmental disabilities accessible and free education in ethical issues in social and behavioral research with people.   

We intend for these materials to be publicly accessible and used by anyone. At the same time, these materials are copyrighted and this entails the usual requirements for “fair use” of copyrighted materials. These materials, or parts of, may be reproduced without prior permission provided the citation below is listed. 

Use of any of the Research Ethics for All materials for commercial purposes is strictly forbidden without the explicit written permission (which may be available via a license agreement) of Syracuse University. For further information on commercial use of the Research Ethics for All materials, contact The Office of Technology Transfer during regular business hours at +1-315-443-5196.   

Citation: We encourage mention and citation of Research Ethics for All in grant proposals, presentations, published manuscripts, and other reporting. Suggested citation: McDonald, K. & Schwartz, A. Site agreement: Downloading certificates at the end of training indicates institutions’ agreement to be included as a “Collaborating Institution” on the Research Ethics for All website and within related marketing materials and reports. “Collaborating Institution” is defined as any site at which Research Ethics for All has been implemented, regardless of the number of actual individual unique users. 

Data Use and Privacy: The Research Ethics for All authors may access a Collaborating Institution’s user information to operate, maintain, and improve Research Ethics for All. User data and/or statistics may be used for scholarly purposes with appropriate regulatory approvals and/or consent. When necessary or appropriate, Collaborating Institution and/or user information may be shared to comply with applicable laws and/or to comply with lawful requests and legal process, including responses to requests from public and government authorities. 

Research Ethics for All reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to terminate account access and use of its services to any Collaborating Institution, any affiliates of a Collaborating Institution, or to any users, for failure to follow the terms and conditions described in these Terms of Service.
